chapter 7

Paddle was saved by a lumber jack.  He wanted to take paddle home to show his son.  Instead he carved new words onto paddle and then dropped him back into the river.

Chapter 6

Paddle came to a sawmill.  The log he was stuck to went into the mill.  Paddle was about to get cut by the sharp saw.

Chapter 5

During the winter lumber jacks cut down logs and set them on the banks of the icy river.  Now it is spring and paddle is rushing down the river with the logs.  He gets suck in the bark of a log so now he is upside down under the log.

Chapter 4

Paddle  got stuck in a marsh.  There were a lot of animals there.  The beavers dam broke and paddle was free.

One day the sun came out and the snow melted.  It  became a  river and paddle started his journey.

Chapter 1; How Paddle-to-the-Sea came to be

A little Indian boy made Paddle.  He made it out of wood. He wrote "Please put me back in water I am Paddle  to the Sea".  He put lead in the bottom so it could stay upright. He painted Paddle & put a piece of tin on it so that Paddle could stay going straight.
