Chapter 22

Traveling along the coast of Lake Erie Paddle among the sights and sounds of commerce.
Paddle added seven new cities to the copper plate on the bottom of his canoe. He was even in the newspapers!
Though other ships take the Welland Canal through Niagara Falls, paddle didn't.

"Mother! Look! A little man! In a boat!" A child screamed.

 Paddle dropped a long way down...

chapter 21.

In Detroit a man ask to buy Paddle for his museum but the girl and her father said no. On a boat again the kind girl dropped him in Lake Erie to cotinue his journey.

Chapter 20

Paddle drifted to Lake Huron. It was winter, the water turned to ice  that froze  paddle to the shore.  Men and boys who were ice fishing accidentally freed paddle with their sleds.  Paddle skated on the ice on his copper plate all over Lake Huron.  As spring came paddle was 2 years old.  A  lihle girl found him in Bay City, Michian.  She put him on her lap as they traveled by boat to Detroit. 

chapter 19.

There was a forest fire.  Paddle was on an island.  The forest animals swam to paddle's island. in the morning the fire was gone and the animals went to look for a new forest home.

chapter 18.

A puppy found paddle and played with him for a while.  Paddle slowly traveled North along the Michigan coast. It took him three seasons to make the journey : Spring, Summer and Autumn.

chapter 17.

Pierre introduced Paddle to Mate Maloney.  He promised to take Paddle to Buffalo safely.  They traveled by ship down Lake Michigan to Gary , Indiana.  There paddle was accidently left behind.

chapter 16

Paddle is at the Coast Guard Station Station until winter. The Soo Sault St. Mary is a city that is in Canada and Michigan. Pierra took Paddle on a 60 mile dog sled ride to the Soo.
